Land to Buy almost came into existence by itself, after so may people who were arranging a mortgage for their already-built home said, “….but of course, eventually we want to build our own house!”

More than half aspired to this, yet each year, only 10% of all houses built are ‘self-build’

The reasons are many; the lack of knowledge, the exhaustive Planning Process, Green Belt restrictions and so on, but primarily it is the difficulty in finding plots of land. Much of it is in the Land Banks of local and national builders, complicated by cynical hoarding by supermarkets preventing competition, but for single plots, or derelict properties suitable for demolition and replacement most are lumped in with the general properties for sale by Estate Agents and Chartered Surveyors. Utility companies sell of redundant land this way, not by direct advertising. Local councils put surplus land on their websites in the most obscure places! Searching for single plots can be a nightmare!

Land to Buy gathers together all the plots of land it can find in the UK and Northern Ireland and makes them easily accessible, gathered together in areas, on a single database. Added to these are barns and other properties suitable for conversion, and dilapidated properties for renovation (or demolition).

For those with a plot or other opportunity to sell, we offer FREE display, including those plots that do not yet have Planning Permission, which provides an easy way of testing the market without the pressure, or cost, of an estate agent.

If there is nothing suitable on first visit, access is guaranteed for 6 months, and renewable if necessary.

Wherever possible the size, location, status and a brief description is openly supplied in the areas subscribed to, and each opportunity has direct contact details to the vendors or their agents, we do not seek or receive commissions on any subsequent sale.
